Today, the Alliance sent a letter of support and gratitude to Senator Merkley, who recently introduced S.1687, the Job Creation through Energy Efficient Manufacturing Act of 2017, in the Senate. The legislation would authorize $600 million in funding to a DOE grant program for state energy offices, energy efficiency nonprofits, and other energy groups to fund energy efficiency projects for small and mid-sized manufacturing firms. As Senator Merkley states, “Investing in energy efficiency retrofits for manufacturers is a great way to create jobs now, make our American small manufacturing businesses more competitive, and reduce energy waste.” Read the Alliance’s letter here.
