On April 16 the CHP Alliance signed onto a joint organizational letter sent to both the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies in support of increasing FY2022 funding for the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR program to $80 million. The letter, organized by the Alliance to Save Energy, was signed by nearly 70 businesses, trade associations, environmental advocates, and other entities, including several members of the CHP Alliance. With this request to effectively double the ENERGY STAR funding, Congress can greatly expand on the emission reductions and energy savings potential the program delivers on an annual basis.
