Alliance Urges Inclusion of CHP/WHP in Rhode Island CPP Comments

Mar 31, 2016

The Alliance filed comments with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management urging the state to consider industrial energy-efficiency options, particularly combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat to power (WHP), for inclusion in the state’s proposed Clean Power Compliance Plan. Our comments note that if Rhode Island were to install only 25 percent of its technical CHP potential, it could achieve as much as 46 percent of its CPP emissions target. We also commend Rhode Island’s continued dedication in developing a state compliance plan despite the Supreme Court stay of the rule. You can read our full comments here.
