Alliance Letter to Senate Finance Committee Energy Taskforce Regarding Tax Credits for CHP and WHP

On June 21, the Alliance for Industrial Efficiency sent a letter to the Senate Finance Committee Energy Taskforce, recommending that the Senate increase the Section 48 Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for CHP systems from 10 to 20 percent, and clarify that WHP is eligible for the ITC. By implementing these changes, the Senate can help overcome the commercial uncertainty and financial barriers that currently limit the use of these systems. This will allow more American businesses to realize the energy savings and resiliency benefits these technologies provide, as well as enhance the overall competitiveness of the American economy.
