On February 21, the CHP Alliance signed onto joint comments with the Midwest Cogeneration Association and Heat is Power Association, in response to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission’s (IURC) request for feedback on the HEA 1278 Energy Study methodologies.
The comments supply several recommendations to:
- the State Utility Forecasting Group on their modeling scenarios that focus on cogeneration and energy efficiency;
- the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory on its study of new and emerging technologies and their impacts; and,
- Indiana University’s study on the economic, fiscal, and social impacts of the transition of electricity generation resource in Indiana.
These joint comments expand upon previous comments the CHP Alliance sent to the IURC back in September 2019, urging the IURC to evaluate CHP and WHP potential in the modeling scenarios of the states future energy portfolio mix.
