Alliance Thanks Senator Shaheen for Introducing the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Act

The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency wrote a letter to Senator Shaheen offering to lend support to the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Act. The Smart Manufacturing Leadership Act supports the use of smart manufacturing technologies to improve the global competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers. By allowing for real-time management of energy, productivity and costs across factories and companies, smart manufacturing technologies save money and reduce emissions. This in turn will make U.S. manufacturers more competitive. This bill will help save money and reduce emissions significantly, as by 2040 it is estimated to save consumers $5 billion in energy costs and reduce carbon emissions equivalent to taking 116 million cars off the road.
