The Alliance submitted a letter today to the North Carolina PUC in support of the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association’s request to consider topping cycle CHP systems as eligible under the state’s energy efficiency resource standard. Topping cycle CHP is a small but important system type that is similar to traditional CHP systems. The Alliance joins businesses and energy efficiency advocates in stressing the importance of this small, but crucial fix to the state’s current efficiency standard law. By categorizing topping cycle CHP as eligible, North Carolina businesses will be able to take advantage of financial incentives and energy and cost savings opportunities.
