The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency released the following statement upon learning that Senator Wyden has introduced legislation to establish a technology neutral clean energy tax incentive framework.

WASHINGTON (May 2, 2019)—“The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency applauds Senator Wyden for his leadership in introducing the Clean Energy for America Act, which establishes a technology neutral clean energy tax incentive framework and includes thermal conversion provisions to properly credit combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat to power (WHP) systems. CHP and WHP systems are a proven and effective means for reducing energy use in the industrial sector. This in turn saves money and helps make US manufacturers more competitive, all while reducing emissions. What’s more, because these systems can operate independently of the grid, they make the grid more reliable and help their hosts keep the lights and heat on during natural or manmade disasters. CHP already provides 12% of US electricity generation, but the potential is far greater—and the Clean Energy for America Act will help unleash that potential.” —David Gardiner, Executive Director, Alliance for Industrial Efficiency
