Ameresco is a leading independent provider of comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions for facilities throughout North America and the United Kingdom. Ameresco’s solutions range from upgrades to facility’s energy infrastructure to the development, construction and operation of renewable energy plants. Headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 2000 and has offices throughout the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe.
Ameresco brings to the Alliance a commitment to promoting energy efficiency and significant experience with CHP technology, as a recognized leader in adapting renewable energy sources for CHP. In 2006, EPA named Ameresco its Energy Partner of the Year for its groundbreaking BMW Manufacturing Landfill Gas to Energy Project. Other notable projects include the U.S. government’s largest biomass-fueled CHP facility at the DOE Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, as well as CHP facilities at Arizona State University, Great Lakes Naval Training Center, and the Philadelphia Water Department.
