The Alliance filed comments with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment today urging the state to consider industrial energy-efficiency options, particularly combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat to power (WHP), for inclusion in the state’s proposed Clean Power Compliance Plan. We commend Colorado’s implementation of forward-thinking energy policies, such as the Clean Air Clean Jobs Act, the state renewable energy standard, the state’s methane rules, and the 2015 Colorado Climate Plan.Colorado is now engaging with the public to develop a plan to meet the carbon dioxide emission reduction targets of the federal CPP. Colorado will forward its initial submittal to the U.S. EPA by September 2016. You can read our full comments here.
