The Alliance submitted comments with the Senate Finance Committee regarding the June 14th Full Committee Hearing “Energy Tax Policy in 2016 and Beyond.” Our comments urged the Committee to support tax policies that would help advance the deployment of combined heat and power (CHP) and waste heat to power (WHP). Our comments applaud Ranking Member Ron Wyden for his continued leadership and urge an extension of the existing Section 48 clean-energy tax credits. We also ask the Committee to expand the credits to include WHP. Finally, we endorse Senator Wyden’s “energy-neutral tax proposal,” which would simplify energy tax policy and would provide parity and flexibility among clean-energy technologies, including CHP and WHP.
