The Alliance for Industrial Efficiency, along with 17 other businesses and energy efficiency advocates, is pleased to see Senator Shaheen’s Heat Efficiency through Applied Technology Act (HEAT Act) offered as an amendment to the Energy Policy Modernization Act (S.2012). The HEAT Act takes a critical step toward reducing a number of hurdles to further CHP and WHP deployment by requiring DOE and FERC to develop materials to identify best practices for interconnection procedures and supplemental, back and standby power fees.
