Coalition Letter of Support for CHP Support Act

We, along with the Alliance to Save Energy, American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, and the American Chemistry Council, shared our support for the CHP Support Act (S. 2425) to authorize the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAPs). The bill has bipartisan support from Senators King (I-ME) and Collins (R-ME). In the House, it was introduced by Representatives Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), David McKinley (R-WV), Paul Tonko (D-NY), and Peter Welch (D-VT).

The CHP TAPs and related activities at DOE encourage the use of technologies that reduce energy use, save consumers money, increase economic competitiveness, enhance electric reliability, and reduce emissions at the nation’s hospitals, universities, and manufacturing sites. We urged members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to further these important national priorities by advancing this bill to the Senate floor.
